Does God Still Part Seas?

This week’s reading comes from Exodus Chapter 14: the Israelites crossing the Red Sea. Pharaoh changes his mind about letting them go, sends his army after them, Moses stretches out his hand, the sea parts, and the Israelites escape... It’s the kind of story that practically tells itself.

As usual, we went in a lot of fascinating directions, and wandered into liberation theology. I suppose it's pretty hard to avoid when you’re talking about God freeing people from slavery.

Pastor Alison is still fighting a cold, but she pushed through to get this episode out. So forgive the sniffles as we talk about freedom, deliverance, and what the Exodus story might still have to say to us today.
