Taking Up Love as a Practice
Loving your neighbor isn’t defined by what we feel, but by what we do. Jesus shows this in the simple, uncomfortable act of washing feet. Love moves toward real needs – even when no one notices, and nothing in us wants to.
This week's practice:
This week, practice love as action, not emotion. Pay attention to the needs around you – especially the ones that are easy to ignore. Then choose one small, quiet act of care each day. Do something helpful, humble, or even a little uncomfortable for someone else.
Don’t make it visible. Don’t explain it. Don’t look for credit. Let love cost you something... your time, your comfort, your convenience.
And then notice: not how it made you look, but how it shaped you.
