Ten Commandments, Zero Guarantees
This week's reading takes us to Mount Sinai, where God gives Moses and the Israelites the Ten Commandments, in Exodus 19:3–7 and 20:1–17. Don’t worry, you're not experiencing déjà vu. The Narrative Lectionary decided they were worth another look.
And you know, underneath all those rules is a pretty simple truth: People are hard to live with. Since time immemorial, humans have been trying to figure out how to live together. And judging by the current state of things, I'd say we're still working on it.
