Taking the Ark Off the Nursery Wall
This week's reading comes from Genesis chapters 6, 8, and 9. It's the flood story. You know the one… Noah, the ark, animals two-by-two, and eventually a rainbow. It is somehow both a genuinely terrifying story and one of the most popular themes for church nurseries. Which, when you stop and think about it, is a little weird.
So this week, we’re taking the ark off the nursery wall and asking: What was this story actually trying to tell us? And what do we do with it now?
